Who is Dani Read?
Dani Read is the designer behind FYI. With 15+ years in fashion and intimates, she’s known for merging technical fit expertise with inclusive, creative designs. After leading lingerie design at Savage X Fenty and launching her own cult-favorite lingerie label, Dani moved to Miami to build FYI Swim from the ground up—creating hand-sewn swimwear that’s bold, functional, and made to celebrate every body.
Where is FYI made?
Every FYI piece is hand-sewn in Miami in small, intentional batches. We use premium deadstock fabrics sourced locally and sustainably, and work with a trusted team of Miami-based seamstresses to bring each design to life.
Is FYI sustainable?
We’re making sustainability sexy. Every drop is limited—fewer than 100 pieces per style—and crafted using designer deadstock wherever possible. Our slow production model supports local creators and makers in Miami. It's thoughtful design with a purpose.
What is deadstock?
Deadstock is excess fabric from high-end designer collections—including runway and couture—that would otherwise end up in a landfill. By repurposing this premium material, FYI gives new life to fabric that’s too good to waste.
What sizes do you offer?
FYI uses a unique 1–2–3 sizing system, designed to flatter a range of bodies:
- Size 1 fits XS to M
- Size 2 fits L to 1X
- Size 3 fits 2X to 4X
All suits are double-lined, adjustable, and carefully fit-tested on diverse bodies right here in Miami. Designer Dani Read is known for creating inclusive, flexible fits that feel as good as they look.

What makes FYI styles unique?
Function meets freedom. Every FYI suit is reversible, adjustable, and made to move with you. Our signature styles—like the Gemini Monokini and Emergency Microkini—can each be worn six ways in two colorways. Whether you want more coverage or less, you’re in control.
Are FYI styles really reversible and multi-wear?
Yes, and yes. Every FYI style is fully reversible, and most can be worn in multiple ways thanks to adjustable ties. Some of our bestsellers can be styled up to 6 different ways—3 tie options, 2 colorways. Each suit is double-lined for a supportive, sculpted feel that hugs you in all the right places.
How do I care for my FYI swimsuit?
Treat your suit like the luxury piece it is. Hand wash in cold water, lay flat to dry, and avoid rough surfaces. A little care goes a long way.
Where do you ship?
FYI by Dani Read currently ships within the United States only. All FYI by Dani Read orders are packed and shipped from our Miami studio with care and intention.

When will I get my order?
Processing & Fulfillment
Orders are processed and shipped within 7 days of purchase. As a small-batch brand, we appreciate your patience—each piece is handled thoughtfully to ensure quality.
Estimated Delivery
Once shipped, you can expect your order to arrive within 3-7 days from your order date. Delivery timelines may vary depending on your location and shipping carrier performance.
Shipping Rates & Taxes
Shipping rates and applicable taxes are calculated at checkout and may vary based on your delivery address. As an independent small business, we thank you for supporting our craft by covering the cost of shipping
Can I return or exchange my order?
We accept returns of unworn, undamaged items within 14 days of delivery. All original tags and hygiene liners must remain attached. To initiate a return, please contact us at hello@fyidaniread.com with your order number and reason for return.
Once we receive your item in acceptable condition, refunds will be processed to your original payment method within 72 hours.
Because of our limited production runs, exchanges are offered when inventory allows. We cannot guarantee availability of specific sizes or colors. If you wish to request an exchange, please email hello@fyidaniread.com as soon as possible.

How do custom orders work?
Custom pieces are co-created between you and Dani Read. After placing your order, we’ll reach out with available fabric and colorway options so you can choose your favorite. From there, your piece will be crafted locally in Miami and shipped within 10–14 days. Delivery takes an additional 3–7 days depending on your location.
We’ll stay in touch with updates while your piece is being made. Because each custom order is made just for you, we’re unable to accept returns or exchanges.
Will you restock sold-out styles?
Nope. Once it’s gone, it’s gone. Each FYI drop is one-of-a-kind and made in limited quantities. Join our email list for early access—email subscribers get early access.
