Dani Read is the designer behind FYI. With over 15 years of experience in the lingerie and swimwear game, Dani is known for her unapologetically feminist, inclusive designs that celebrate every body and every curve. A longtime industry disruptor rooted in queer creativity and community, Dani is now building FYI from the inside out—partnering with Miami-based makers and creatives to bring you swimwear that’s fashion-driven, sun-soaked, and made to feel good in.
Re-Introducing FYI: A New Kind of Sexy
FYI by Dani Read first hit the runway at Brooklyn Fashion Week in 2011 — a fearless lingerie brand with a bold, feminist point of view. It took off fast, landing features in V, Creem, Vice, and carried in over 25 boutiques across five countries.
But in 2013, everything changed. Dani survived a violent attack and was forced to step out of the spotlight. For the next decade, she designed behind the scenes for brands like Kiki de Montparnasse, Frederick’s of Hollywood, Fashion Nova, Forever 21, Yandy — and was even personally tapped by Rihanna to lead lingerie design at Savage X Fenty.
Now, over ten years later, she’s back — and ready to prove to herself and other survivors that no one can take away who we are, even if we’re transformed along the way.
